والآن، هانحن أمام مبادرة عظيمة أطلقها صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم نائب رئيس الدولة رئيس مجلس الوزراء حاكم دبي حفظه الله. مبادرة نور دبي لعلاج مليون حالة من المكفوفين أو شبه المكفوفين ما كان ممكنا سواء بالتدخل الجراحي أو الليزري أو مهما كانعلى نفقة سموه الخاصة ذهابا وإيابا وإقامة وعلاجا على أرض دبي. والمبادرة تشمل كلا من حالات العمى الكامل وشبه الكامل والمؤقت والدائم والمسلم وغير المسلم والأبيض وغير الأبيض والعربي وغير العربي وكل من تمنى رؤية النور وقد حرم منه. وقد تطوع سموه في هذه المبادرة الطيبة المباركة باغيا وجه الله تعالى داعيا المولى عز وجل أن يتقبلنا وأن يطهرنا وأن يصرف عنا وعن ذرياتنا وعن أهلينا الأسقام والأمراض، وقد بدأت ب مراسلتكم ليكون بمثابة إعلان عام لكل من حرم النور من أبناء بلدي صغيرهم وكبيرهم، ذكرانهم وإناثهم وفقراؤهم والغلابة والذين يحسبهم الجاهل أغنياء من التعفف أن يقوموا بتجهيز ما يلي:
1- صورة جواز سفر المريض ويكتب عليها كلمة مريض + صورة شخصية.
2- صورة جواز سفر لمرافق ويكتب عليها كلمة مرافق + صورة شخصية.
3- تقرير طبي شامل ودقيق صادر عن مستشفى حكومي ومعتمد من وزارة الصحة.
4- رقم هاتف يمكن الاتصال بالمريض أو بمن هو مسئول عنه .
5- ترسل الطلبات مع التقارير الطبية والأشعة وغيره إن وجد مباشرة على العنوان التالي:

إن صاحب السمو الشيخ محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم حفظه الله حين أطلق هذه المبادرة الطيبة مبادرة نور دبي وجه سموه بإنشاء هيئة طبية تضم خبراء من كل جنسيات العالم وفريقا منتقى لتلقي الطلبات ومن ثم تعرض الحالات على اللجان الطبية المتخصصة التي تدرسها بعناية ثم توصي باستقدامها كي يتم علاجها. وستقوم اللجان بالاتصال بالحالات مباشرة ودون فرض أي رسوم أو أتعاب أو غرامات بل إن كل شيء مجانا إنشاء الله من أول السفر والانتقال والإقامة والعلاج والعودة سليما معافى إنشاء الله.
فيا كل طفل لم يرى النور
وكل رب أسرة حرم حبيبتيه
وكل شيخ فقد الأمل في الإبصار مرة أخرى
